Sometimes traditional, sometimes bizarre, the list below is a conglomeration of party themes from the team atDebbie Lyn's, our customers and so-called friends(?). • Dead Rock Stars - Actually this can be any group of famous people that are now deceased. Rock stars make for a good theme because of the tie in with music, karaoke, outlandish dress, maximum attitudes, and quirky personalities. Don't forget the wild and crazy instruments!
• Olympics! - A great year for an historical Grecian theme. Make it modern or ancient and use the nationalities, flags and countries of choice. Tie this in with torches, props and crazy sports outfits. Combine with foolish home grown "Oldlymping" events. Add medals and plaques for the winners and make the Olympic summer memorable.
• Come in a Survivor Costume - Reality TV at it's best. Recreate the pain and backstabbing with machetes (props, of course), blowup tropical palms, animal hats and chocolate maggots. Mix with a tribal council fire a ridiculous game or two and, of course, the best costume gets voted off the island!
• Come as a dreaded disease or mortal wound - Try this at your own risk! This is not our idea so you are on your own. However, our doctor, nurse and surgeon section is quite complete, even blood, disfiguring scars and syringes!
• Come in your favorite Alien costume - This is great for groups or individuals. Star Trek, Star Wars, or any fantasy, Sci-fi, or comics characters, old or new. Everyone has a favorite. This is an excellent photo opportunity to recreate a cast or scene.
• Surprise dress up party - Rent a selection of costumes, hats and accessories and let everyone dress up when they arrive. This is great as an ice breaker and also allows people to change outfits during the affair. Also is a great photo opportunity for memories
• Come in a movie character or TV character costume - This one is probably the most popular and easiest party themes to put together. A favorite for couples and singles alike. Egos and alter-egos can flourish when people can "get into character", along with the garb.
• Come as a famous or infamous political character - Accessories and mannerisms are sometimes all you need to play the part. Many characaturish masks are available for political characters. Add a robe or suit and the image is complete. A way of speech, the type of hat or cigar adds yet another dimension to a fun filled history lesson.
• Come as a non living item - No people or animals for this one. Invitees must dress as anything but a living creature. Cell phones, trash cans, Toxic sludge, beer, milk cartons and food in general are all qualified possibles. This is good for creative thinkers and works well with overly imaginative people.
• Luau - Anytime is right for a luau! Let your guests get into a south pacific mood. Come as a native or a tourist and hula the night away with grass skirts, Hawaiian shirts, coconut bras, floral leis, tropical hats and headbands and lots more. Debbie Lyn's has the accessories and decor as well. Blow up palms, tiki masks, squirting cameras for the tourists, ukuleles, fern bikinis, flowered flip-flops, the list goes on!
• Weddings - Theme weddings are one of the fastest growing trends. Couples are choosing unique wedding motifs that make their day more than just a celebration. Themes can be anything, Some of the more popular subjects include: Era's like 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's, 70's, Victorian, Ethnic, Gothic, Western, Halloween, Hawaiian, Fantasy and many versions of Renaissance.
